Becky Cripps

South-Central Etobicoke Director

Becky is the team lead for Youth Unlimited in South-Central Etobicoke. Becky sees the value of investing in youth by sharing God’s love with them, putting her faith into action. For over 20 years, her experience working with youth has ranged from camps, employment in group homes, downtown drop-in centers, and serving homeless and street-involved youth through mentorship and practical care.

Becky is married to Rob and together they have four children. They moved to the city in 2008 when God put the idea of serving in the city on their hearts. This came as Rob was hired on as Pastor at Capstone Community Bible Church in Etobicoke. (Capstone is an official and significant partner with our Youth Unlimited team).

Becky loves the beautiful diversity in the city of Toronto and the incredible food at every corner.

Andrew Ironside

South Etobicoke Youth Outreach Coordinator

From large-scale programs to informal run-ins at the coffee shop – and everything in between – Andrew’s heart is to follow the example of Jesus and serve his community well.

In the spring and summer, Andrew’s primary role is to plan and oversee the Lakeshore Soccer League, a grassroots program for 200 kids in South Etobicoke. He is also responsible for recruiting and training 30 volunteer coaches, numerous student referees, and an additional 30 High School student leaders as part of the Leaders in Training Program.

During the fall and winter, Andrew’s responsibilities include running a youth soccer program, ongoing youth mentorship, community support for youth and families, and fundraising for the programs.

As part of his role, Andrew also works in partnership with Capstone Church to come alongside individuals and families in various capacities of care and community.

Andrew and his wife Stephanie live in South-Etobicoke, and have two young kids. Most importantly, Andrew and Stephanie are (long-suffering) fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and hope to one day celebrate a Stanley Cup Parade.

Faye Evans

Administration Support

Faye has been married for 42 years and has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. She worked in the Banking Industry for over 40 years and retired 5 years ago. She prayed and asked God how she could use her time productively in ministry. Faye knew about Youth Unlimited and contacted Becky Cripps to see if any help would be needed.  So the journey began, first working at Light Patrol and now for South Central Etobicoke supporting the work to help transform youth by God’s love in our community.

Jon & Meghan Matthews

Co-Coordinators of the Level Up Leadership Course

Meghan & Jon are passionate followers of Jesus, committed to the building of His kingdom.

They both serve in a number of different ministry contexts: Jon as Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries at Kingsway Baptist Church, and Meghan as the Administrative Assistant for Youth Ministries with CBOQ & as a speaker and workshop facilitator. Since they were married (5 years ago), they have also worked together at Camp Kwasind each summer!

With a firm belief that intentional discipleship is the key to building the kingdom, Meghan & Jon take every possible opportunity to help others develop their relationship with Jesus; this is why they are so excited to partner with Youth Unlimited to help lead the Level Up Program.

On a personal note: Meghan & Jon first met while throwing axes almost 10 years ago. Now, Meghan is working on her Masters of Divinity at McMaster Divinity in Hamilton, and Jon continues connect and support youth through unique shared experiences (like boardgame nights, overseas compassion trips, and regional networking, to name a few).

Most importantly, Meghan and Jon are both ardent road-trippers and poutine aficionados.

Katie Ogiba

Etobicoke Young Moms Leader

Katie is the volunteer leader at our Etobicoke Young Moms Group. Katie knows first-hand the unique and sometimes isolating struggle of being a young mother, having been one herself. Having experienced the life-altering impact of God’s grace, she feels called to share this, specifically with other mothers. She is passionate about bringing back a sense of “village” to parenting and is excited to see God work in and through the lives of the women attending and leading the South Etobicoke Young Moms group.

Katie lives in Mississauga with her husband, Greg, and three sons, Owen, Ethan and Cameron. She loves to read and wander.

Naomi Walton

South Etobicoke Program Assistant (Intern)

Naomi is on staff with Youth Unlimited as the South Etobicoke Program Assistant (Intern).

She will be heavily involved in coordinating and helping run the Lakeshore Soccer League and LIT Program.

Currently Naomi is attending York University with the goal to work with youth and children in challenging situations, as well as to help them develop in order to reach their full potential. Over the past few years she has gained experience by working with the youth at her local church Faith Sanctuary. She will use her experience to help support and invest in the lives of the youth she will be working with in the South – Etobicoke community. Naomi is excited about this internship opportunity with Youth Unlimited and sees it as an opportunity to also improve her leadership skills in ministry working with youth and children.
