A fun and formative summer leadership experience for youth

Lakeshore Leaders in Training (LIT)

The Lakeshore Leaders in Training Program (LIT) is a fun and formative summer experience for students ages 13-18, helping them to grow as young leaders in their communities.

Under the supervision of our staff, youth volunteers will assist as Junior Coaches in the Lakeshore Soccer League kids program, gaining practical experience in basic leadership roles. Participants will also meet before the program every week for lunch, helpful leadership lessons, and constructive feedback.

Other highlights of the summer include a Toronto FC game at BMO Field and a fun soccer game for all volunteers before the kids arrive every week. Students in high school can also receive up to 40 volunteer hours for taking part, depending on attendance.

The Leaders in Training Program has a Christian faith emphasis, and is open to anyone eager to grow as a young leader!

“Through this program, I’ve learned the importance of great planning and appreciated the time of training and debriefing every week. You can count on me next year!”
